Video and audio with LumaFusion

LumaFusion is a great alternative to the Adobe video and audio products, particularly for content creators who are just getting started.

The software is incredibly user-friendly and there’s plenty of tutorials available online.

If you’re not a tutorial person and you prefer to learn by doing, then just dive in — you can gain a sense of things pretty quickly.

I use LumaFusion for both video and audio work and I use it on both my MacBook Pro and my iPad Pro. With my iPad Pro, I use an Apple Pencil, though you can connect a mouse as well.

I create short reels for Instagram and longer hour-long videos for YouTube and I’ve never had a problem with either length. It exports in a variety of qualities, including 4k, and is fairly quick, in my opinion.

The editing features also cover a variety of needs. I’ll drop a list of my favorites below, but overall, I feel I’ve barely skimmed the surface of the software’s abilities.

Possibly my favorite part about LumaFusion is the one-and-done price. Like the design software I use, LumaFusion does not require a subscription. You pay once and you have full access.

If you’re just diving into the video world and you want something that doesn’t break the bank but still produces quality, I definitely recommend LumaFusion.

Happy editing!

Helpful editing features:

  • Multiple audio and video tracks can be overlapped
  • Basic transitions are included
  • Color correction, cropping and positioning is easy
  • Speed can be adjusted
  • Frame rate and aspect ratio can be adjusted
  • Export video without audio is possible
  • Can be used for just audio work
