MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Badgers blasted the Eastern Michigan Eagles with a 54-10 win in their Week 3 matchup.
The first three drives were the most difficult to watch as the Badgers turned the ball over on downs, the Eagles scored a touchdown and QB Colton Joseph threw an interception.
In fact, if you were watching the broadcast on Peacock, the broadcasters’ dire tones would have you believe all hope was lost.
Little did they know, the Badgers were simply getting their biggest mistakes over early. The Badgers finished the first quarter with a field goal, forced the Eagles to punt and owned the remaining three quarters.
LB Mason Posa and S Matthew Jung each had interceptions in the second quarter, which led to offensive touchdowns.
WR Tyrell Henry by far and away had the most receptions with 14 for 160 yards. This includes one touchdown and a school record for most receptions in a single game.
Joseph led the team in rushing yards with nine carries and a touchdown.
LB Cooper Catalano recovered a fumble in the third quarter and returned the ball 10 yards for a touchdown.
RB Darrion Dupree, WR Chris Brooks Jr. and TE Emmett Bork had the remaining touchdowns.
The Badgers finished the game without a punt and a total of 479 yards. 362 were passing yards and an average of 11 yards per reception.
The Penn State Nittany Lions will host the Badgers on Saturday. The Nittany Lions are 3-0 and ranked 14 nationally.
